Football Preview: McAlester Buffaloes vs. Coweta Tigers

The McAlester Buffaloes are taking a road trip to challenge the Coweta Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McAlester will be strutting in after a victory while Coweta will be coming in after a defeat.

McAlester took a loss when they played away from home on September 6th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They came out on top against Ada by a score of 10-2.

McAlester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Smith, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 82 yards.

McAlester's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. Meanwhile, Coweta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Prairie Grove by a score of 34-32.

McAlester now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Coweta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
