Football Game Preview: Benet Academy Redwings vs. DePaul College Prep Rams + Official Tickets

The Benet Academy Redwings will head out to square off against the DePaul College Prep Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benet Academy has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Benet Academy is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They were outmatched by Nazareth Academy and fell 42-14. The Redwings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Meanwhile, DePaul College Prep played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against St. Francis, falling 35-14. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Spartans are ranked 22nd).

Benet Academy will have to contain Tyson Hooks as he made an impact in DePaul College Prep's last game. He rushed for 98 yards and one score, and also picked up 90 receiving yards. Hooks got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 50 yards.

Benet Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for DePaul College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Benet Academy was able to grind out a solid win over DePaul College Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 31-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redwings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
