Football Recap: Gunderson Piles Up the Points Against Del Mar + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gunderson). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Del Mar Dons 38-10. For the Grizzlies, this counts as revenge for the 39-25 victory the Dons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.

Gunderson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cylis Cook out in front who rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also caught one score. The Grizzlies also got help from Greg Darling, who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gunderson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Gunderson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carlos Tobar and Cook.

Gunderson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.7 points on average over those games. As for Del Mar, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Gunderson and Del Mar will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Grizzlies will square off against rival Leland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Del Mar is set to face off against their familiar foe Oak Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
