Basketball Recap: Beach Channel Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Beach Channel unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Epic South an easy 74-49 victory. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Epic South are ranked 35th).

Beach Channel now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Epic South, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Beach Channel will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Richmond Hill at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Beach Channel is facing Richmond Hill at the right time seeing as Richmond Hill is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Epic South will take on St. Mary's in a holiday battle at at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
