Softball Recap: Surry County Comes Up Short

Surry County fell victim to Southampton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 19-0. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 18-2 to the Indians when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Surry County and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Southampton, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Surry County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 22-2 victory against Franklin on the 3rd. As for Southampton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-3 defeat against Smithfield on the 9th.
