Volleyball Recap: Cane Bay Comes Up Short

Cane Bay suffered their biggest defeat since August 28th on Tuesday. They came up short against Palmetto Christian Academy, falling 3-0. The Cobras were not able to make up for their loss to Palmetto Christian Academy from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Cane Bay was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Palmetto Christian Academy work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 27-25, 25-5.

When it comes to explaining why Cane Bay lost, don't look at Savanna Hammond. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and two aces. Hammond is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jordan Flores also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Cane Bay's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Cane Bay has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Lake Marion on the 10th. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Porter-Gaud on the 11th.
