Soccer Game Preview: Pompano Beach vs. South Broward

The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes will take on the South Broward Bulldogs in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Pompano Beach's offense. They lost 3-0 to Pembroke Pines Charter on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Jaguars are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, South Broward kept a clean sheet against Everglades on Monday. They blew past the Gators 4-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by four goals or more this season.

They hit Everglades with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isabel Capellen (2), Abigail Stimson, and Geneva Cizek.

South Broward's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those four contests. As for Pompano Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

Pompano Beach took their win against South Broward when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 7-0. Will Pompano Beach repeat their success, or does South Broward have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
