Basketball Recap: Van Bulldogs vs. River View Raiders
The Van Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 86-66 loss at the hands of River View. Van has struggled against the Raiders recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Jackson Danielson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for River View, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Danielson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Gabe Lester was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.
Van dropped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for River View, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Van will be playing at home against the Golden Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Mount View is ranked 108th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 119th). As for River View, they will head out on the road to take on the Bobcats at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
