Basketball Recap: Humphrey-Lindsay Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs lost to the Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats on the road by a 58-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Bobcats are ranked 26th).

When it comes to explaining why Humphrey-Lindsay lost, don't look at Owen Kurtenbach. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Kurtenbach is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Gavin Groteluschen was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Humphrey-Lindsay now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Humphrey-Lindsay and Howells-Dodge will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they will face off against Lourdes Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Exeter-Milligan/Friend's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
