            Baseball Preview: East Providence Townies vs. Cranston West Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            The East Providence Townies will take on the Cranston West Falcons at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. East Providence's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so Cranston West's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
East Providence is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Rhode Island's top teams: Cumberland, who was ranked fifth  at the time (East Providence was ranked third). The Townies fell just short of the Clippers by a score of  6-5 on Monday.
  Aidan Martins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with two  runs.  Max Correiro was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Cranston West came up short against La Salle Academy on Monday and fell  4-1. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.
 Alex Milano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. Cranston West is 2-1 when  Milano allows three or  fewer  earned runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
 At the plate, Cranston West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Chris Barboza, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run.
 Cranston West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for East Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
