Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Raiders vs. Livonia Wildcats

Northwest is 0-4 against Livonia since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Northwest Raiders will head out to face off against the Livonia Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Northwest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, everything went Northwest's way against LaGrange as Northwest made off with a 14-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won three in a row.

Northwest got a massive performance out of Dreamon Haywood, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Haywood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Berard, who went a perfect2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Livonia's offense. They came up short against Catholic of Pointe Coupee on Monday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

The victory got Northwest back to even at 3-3. As for Livonia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1-1.

Northwest came up short against Livonia in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 7-2. Can Northwest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
