Football Game Preview: St. John's Pioneers vs. Hopkinton Hillers

The St. John's Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Hopkinton Hillers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopkinton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. John's, who comes in off a win.

St. John's not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 21-0). Everything went their way against Shrewsbury as they made off with a 31-10 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Bradford Perry and Liam Deso were among the main playmakers for St. John's as the former threw for 207 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes and the latter rushed for 114 yards on only 15 carries. Keegan Spaulding also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 32 points the game before, Hopkinton was a bit more limited in their matchup last Friday. They lost 35-12 to Medfield.

Hopkinton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for St. John's, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything went St. John's way against Hopkinton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as St. John's made off with a 21-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
