Soccer Game Preview: Ocean Lakes vs. Hickory

The Ocean Lakes Dolphins will venture away from home to square off against the Hickory Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocean Lakes will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Ocean Lakes is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past First Colonial 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for Ocean Lakes as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Hickory earned a 3-1 victory over Princess Anne on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Hickory's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Princess Anne are ranked 63rd).

Ocean Lakes' record is now 11-5-2. As for Hickory, their record now sits at 15-0-3.

Everything went Ocean Lakes' way against Hickory in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, as Ocean Lakes made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dolphins since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
