Marshfield proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Merrill Bluejays, sneaking past 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-7 back in April.

Molly Fox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Marshfield let Lydia Garvin and Madison Kraus run wild. Garvin went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Kraus went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Kraus a new career-high. Delaney Varsho also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Marshfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Merrill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshfield will challenge Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Merrill, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Stevens Point at 4:30 p.m. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bluejays surely won't give up without a fight.
