Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Gets the Win

Prestonsburg's tournament run continued when they took on Great Crossing on Saturday. The Blackcats had just enough and edged out the Warhawks 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blackcats.

Luke Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Prestonsburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Prestonsburg's record now sits at 10-17-1. As for Great Crossing, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Prestonsburg will take on Beechwood at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Great Crossing, they will host Chilhowie at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warhawks 3.5, the Warriors 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
