Basketball Recap: Boone Takes a Loss

Boone lost against Gilbert back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Boone Toreadors were beaten by the Gilbert Tigers 53-19. While losing is never fun, the Toreadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Tigers are ranked 38th).

Boone has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Gilbert, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Boone has already played their next game (against Carroll), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gilbert wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-33 loss against Waverly-Shell Rock on the 25th.
