The Elverado Falcons will face off against the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elverado 1.9, Christ Our Rock Lutheran 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Elverado is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Edwards County just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Maggie Elson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Elverado saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bridgett Elder, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Christ Our Rock Lutheran came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cougars.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Emma Williamson gave up only one earned run on six hits and racked up 16 Ks.
At the plate, Alayna French was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Kylie Nalewajka was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Elverado, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Elverado skirted past Christ Our Rock Lutheran 5-4 in their previous matchup back in March of 2018. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Silver Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
