Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Elgin). They blew past the Elgin Maroons 25-2 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Storm, who have now won three matches in a row.

Justin Pold made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten games.

In other batting news, South Elgin got a massive performance out of Jacob Robertson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Robertson a new career-high in RBI (three). Connor Lund also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

South Elgin's record now sits at 5-9. As for Elgin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

South Elgin will have a chance to go back-to-back against Elgin: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
