Basketball Recap: Taylor's Crossing Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Alexis Ellis and Reagan Smith

Taylor's Crossing lost against Leadore back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Taylor's Crossing Eagles lost 39-18 to the Leadore Mustangs.

Despite the loss, Taylor's Crossing had strong showings from Reagan Smith, who posted ten points along with five boards and four steals, and Alexis Ellis, who earned six points in addition to 12 rebounds and four blocks. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Leadore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mesa Herbst out in front who went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points. Kaylee Kesl was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Taylor's Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Leadore, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Taylor's Crossing didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-13 win against Alturas Prep on the 16th. Leadore has also already played their next contest, a 42-23 victory against Grace Lutheran on the 16th.
