Baseball Game Preview: St. Elizabeth Vikings vs. Salesianum Sallies

St. Elizabeth is 1-9 against Salesianum since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vikings will head out to take on the Sallies at 6:30 p.m. St. Elizabeth will be strutting in after a win while Salesianum will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Elizabeth took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let McKean get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 14-0).

Meanwhile, Salesianum faced Sussex Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Sallies fell just short of the Golden Knights by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Sallies have suffered since April 15th.

Salesianum dropped their record down to 10-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Elizabeth, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

St. Elizabeth suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Salesianum when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
