Woodgrove is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Heritage is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wolverines will host the Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodgrove's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Woodgrove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Tuscarora by a score of 4-1.

Dane Marsh
06/03/25 vs Tuscarora | 14 |
05/16/25 @ John Champe | 11 |
05/07/25 vs Herndon | 3 |
Dane Marsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 7 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Vincenzo Cusat, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Nielsen, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Heritage owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They skirted past Loudoun County 1-0. That's two games straight that the Pride have won by just one run.
Not much got past Mark Van Tuyle, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Loudoun County off the board. Van Tuyle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Van Tuyle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Woodgrove, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Woodgrove came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage in their previous meeting back in May, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
