Preview: East Lee County Jaguars vs. Moore Haven Terriers
The East Lee County Jaguars on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Moore Haven Terriers at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, East Lee County beat South Fort Myers 62-50. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win East Lee County has managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Moore Haven ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 55-49 W over Pahokee.
Moore Haven found their leader in underclassman Aaryn Askew, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Askew has scored all season. Kendavion Holligan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
East Lee County's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Moore Haven, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
East Lee County took their victory against Moore Haven in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 55-32. Does East Lee County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moore Haven turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
