Softball Game Preview: Fannett Metal vs. Forbes Road

Fannett Metal will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Forbes Road at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Fannett Metal made easy work of McConnellsburg and carried off a 17-3 victory. Fannett Metal hasn't had any issues with McConnellsburg recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Harleigh Detweiler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Detweiler was even better at the plate, firing off three home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Sadie Wolf was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Lilian Daniel was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Forbes Road was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 15-11 to Shade.

Ginnah Kendall was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cabela Ramsey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fannett Metal took their victory against Forbes Road when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1. Will Fannett Metal repeat their success, or does Forbes Road has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
