Estero took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-57 win over the Canterbury Cougars. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 76-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Estero to victory were Andrew Tetrault and Ashton Peterson. Tetrault posted 23 points, while Peterson had 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerald Lashley, who put up eight points.

Canterbury's loss came despite strong showings from Josh Benbenisty and Joe Banks. Benbenisty shot 55% from the field to rack up 23 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Banks earned 14 points and eight rebounds. Ryder Lyons was another key player, putting up six points and 12 rebounds.

Estero didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-22 victory against Riverdale on the 18th. As for Canterbury, they have also already played their next game, a 76-75 loss against Naples on the 18th.
