Soccer Recap: Charlestown Starts Season with Victory Against Providence

Charlestown had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Providence Pioneers as they made off with a 5-2 victory. The game got a bit rough at times, as the refs handed out a total of six yellow cards before it was all over.

Charlestown hit Providence with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jaime Ortiz-Casillas (2), Kevin Rios Perez, Dylan Coyle, and Darin Marsal.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlestown will venture away from home to take on Corydon Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Jeffersonville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
