Softball Recap: Alhambra Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Alhambra rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They skirted past the San Leandro Pirates 14-12. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alhambra got a massive performance out of Nichaela West, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Adalyn McCoy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

The victory got Alhambra back to even at 12-12-1. As for San Leandro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-13.

Coming up, Alhambra will head out to square off against Bishop O'Dowd at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. San Leandro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
