Softball Recap: Whitesboro's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Whitesboro came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Pilot Point a 10-0 shutout. Whitesboro has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Pilot Point, too.

Bradi Gallaway and Tylar Olsen did most of the damage at the plate: Gallaway went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Olsen scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most RBI Gallaway has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Downs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Whitesboro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 10-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Whitesboro pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pilot Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Whitesboro and Pilot Point will both be playing Boyd the next time they take the field. Whitesboro will host Boyd at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Pilot Point will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
