Soccer Game Preview: St. Edward vs. St. Ignatius

St. Edward is 0-10 against St. Ignatius since September of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a Battle of the Birds when St. Edward faced off against Hawken on Monday. Neither the Eagles nor the Hawks could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time St. Edward have been dealt a draw since September 6th.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, St. Ignatius was forced to settle for a draw. They played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against Our Lady of Good Counsel.

St. Ignatius' goal came courtesy of Bryce Ince-Lovelace, who's now up to six this season.

With that draw, St. Ignatius' record moves to 11-0-1. As for St. Edward, they moved theirs to 4-4-4.

St. Edward came up short against St. Ignatius in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
