Basketball Game Preview: Stratford Knights vs. Goose Creek Gators

Stratford hasn't had much luck against Goose Creek recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stratford Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Goose Creek Gators at 7:30 p.m.

Stratford is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They received a blow as they fell 65-51 to Berkeley. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Stags are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, Goose Creek had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 72-46 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Goose Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Stratford came up short against Goose Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 71-58. Can Stratford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
