Basketball Recap: West Tallahatchie Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

West Tallahatchie had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 51-35 bruising from the Coahoma County Red Panthers. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Several Choctaws players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Sample, who posted 13 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Markylan Brown, who earned ten points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Tallahatchie will host Palmer at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coahoma County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kosciusko at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
