Softball Game Preview: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Langtree Charter Academy Lions

For the second straight game, Corvian Community will face off against Langtree Charter Academy. The Cardinals will welcome the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Corvian Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

If Corvian Community beats Langtree Charter Academy with 16 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the Lions on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Corvian Community let Emily Johnson and Cassidy Masten run wild. Johnson got on base in all five of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases and five runs, while Masten got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those five runs gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Chapman, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Corvian Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. They are 5-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Corvian Community's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
