Basketball Recap: Guntersville Comes Up Short

Guntersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 59-31 loss at the hands of the Plainview Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 54-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2019.

Guntersville's record now sits at 9-8. As for Plainview, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Guntersville and Plainview should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Guntersville (ranked 52nd) will meet Grissom (ranked 226th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Meanwhile, Plainview will challenge New Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 249 places (20 vs. 269).
