Seaside came into Saturday's   matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Watsonville Wildcatz  2-1. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Wildcatz  two weeks ago, they had to take a  3-1  defeat.
 The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Seaside who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 20-25,  25-12.
Seaside found their leader in sophomore  Mikaela Villa, who  had 18  digs and three  assists.  Lavania Molitika also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assist of the season.
 Seaside  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 11  aces. That's the most  aces they've posted  in their last six  matches.
Seaside's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Watsonville, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record  this season.
 Seaside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  matchup,  a  2-1  loss against Gilroy on the 4th. As for Watsonville, they will look to defend their home court  on Monday against Everett Alvarez  at 6:00  p.m.
