Volleyball Game Preview: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. Riverside-Durham Pirates

The Falls Lake Firebirds will venture away from home to square off against the Riverside-Durham Pirates at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Falls Lake didn't have quite enough to beat Triangle Math & Science and fell 3-2. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Falls Lake took Triangle Math & Science into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Durham faced Jordan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Pirates came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on six straight.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20.

Falls Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Riverside-Durham, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
