Recap: Alhambra Lions vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions
The Alhambra Lions lost against the Red Mountain Mountain Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Alhambra took a serious blow against Red Mountain, falling 64-21. While losing is never fun, Alhambra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Red Mountain is ranked 17th).
Leading Red Mountain to victory were Macy Johnson and Makaia Jenkins. Johnson scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals, while Jenkins scored 22 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Jenkins has scored at least 25% of Red Mountain's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakoreyauna Roberts, who scored 4 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Alhambra and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Red Mountain, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Alhambra will head out on the road to face off against San Luis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Red Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Chandler is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
