Basketball Recap: Cahokia Takes a Loss

Cahokia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 62-24 loss at the hands of the Belleville West Maroons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comanches this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-8 back in December of 2024.

Cahokia's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Belleville West, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17.

Cahokia and Belleville West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Cahokia (ranked 595th) will meet Carbondale (ranked 210th) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Belleville West will face off against Alton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 385 places (389 vs. 4).
