Basketball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Millbrook Wildcats. The Huskies lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 84-59 score last time.

Millbrook had a senior duo take command as Joshua Bowen posted 13 points and five rebounds and Ashton King earned 19 points and three steals. The game was King's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josh Conti, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Millbrook, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-9.

Heritage will challenge Knightdale at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Millbrook, they will face off against Rolesville at 7:45 p.m. on January 17th. Millbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Rolesville likes a good challenge.
