Softball Game Preview: Upper Lake Cougars vs. Kelseyville Knights

The Upper Lake Cougars will head out to square off against the Kelseyville Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper Lake has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cloverdale hit Upper Lake with a five-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-3 to the Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Kelseyville lost 16-2 to St. Helena on Tuesday.

Kelseyville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Rodgers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Kelseyville's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Upper Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Upper Lake might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from Kelseyville in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
