Basketball Game Preview: McCall-Donnelly Vandals vs. Cole Valley Christian Chargers

McCall-Donnelly is 1-9 against Cole Valley Christian since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McCall-Donnelly Vandals will square off against the Cole Valley Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. McCall-Donnelly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

McCall-Donnelly is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Homedale 66-25 on Saturday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.

Emma Ormsby and Lexie Arnold were among the main playmakers for McCall-Donnelly as the former posted 22 points and the latter put up 17 points. The dominant performance gave Ormsby a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Izzy Tinney, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian posted their closest win since November 19, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Weiser, sneaking past 46-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Cole Valley Christian pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for McCall-Donnelly, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

McCall-Donnelly didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Cole Valley Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for McCall-Donnelly since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
