Basketball Recap: Ovilla Christian Beats Alcuin for Their Third Straight Win

Ovilla Christian had won two straight games and Sophie Henry did her part to make it three on Monday. The Ovilla Christian Eagles took their match with ease, bagging a 65-23 win over the Alcuin Hawks thanks in part to Henry, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 52 games she's played dating back to last season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Collette Gentry, who posted four points in addition to 11 assists, six rebounds, and six steals. Those 11 assists gave her a new career-high.

Ovilla Christian pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.8 points. As for Alcuin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Ovilla Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Prestonwood Christian North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ovilla Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for Alcuin, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on First Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Alcuin surely won't give up without a fight.
