DeKalb dropped their record down to 19-9-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 6-0 to the Metea Valley Mustangs. DeKalb got a good showing from Breydon Martin, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, DeKalb saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Farrell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base was Farrell's first of the season.

On the hitting side, Tyler Gluting was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Matthew Reilly, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

While DeKalb had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
