Basketball Game Preview: Madison County Mountaineers vs. Clarke County Eagles

Madison County and Clarke County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Madison County Mountaineers will head out on the road to challenge the Clarke County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Madison County lost 61-38 to East Rockingham on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Clarke County came up short against Rappahannock County on Thursday and fell 60-49. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Madison County strolled past Clarke County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 62-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
