Basketball Game Preview: Westbrook Blue Blazes vs. Fryeburg Raiders

The Westbrook Blue Blazes and the Fryeburg Raiders will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Westbrook turned things around against Mt. Ararat on Saturday. They walked away with a 67-56 win over the Eagles. The Blue Blazes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Fryeburg came up short against Noble on Saturday and fell 71-60. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Knights are ranked second).

Fryeburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Westbrook, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Westbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Fryeburg in their previous meeting back in January, winning 41-31. Will Westbrook repeat their success, or does Fryeburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
