Softball Recap: Tates Creek Victorious

Tates Creek lost to Madison Southern back in March of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Commodores walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Eagles.

Alexis Sempsrott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kylie Howell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Tates Creek's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Madison Southern, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Tates Creek will venture away from home to take on Paul Laurence Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commodores' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Madison Southern, they will take on Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
