Softball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Pinnacle Classical Academy had already won four in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with an 18-13 win over the Community Christian Academy Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-2 last Tuesday.

Evie Hawkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and seven unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Layla Boone was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Riley Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Community Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Pinnacle Classical Academy will square off against Highland Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Community Christian Academy, they will welcome Lake Lure Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
