Baseball Game Preview: Arnold Marlins vs. Bozeman Bucks

Arnold is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Bozeman is on a 14-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Arnold will host Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Arnold 3.6, Bozeman 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Arnold is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering South Walton just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Seahawks, falling 10-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Marlins, who until this game were averaging 3.63 runs allowed.

Arnold saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Hendrix, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Hendrix has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Bozeman made easy work of Sequoyah on Tuesday and carried off an 8-1 win. Considering the Bucks have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooks Skipper was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Goodwin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bozeman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bozeman's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Arnold, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arnold has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bozeman struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
