Baseball Game Preview: Northview Vikings vs. Charter Oak Chargers

For the second straight game, Northview will face off against Charter Oak. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Chargers at 3:30 p.m. The last three games Northview has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Northview didn't have quite enough to beat Charter Oak and fell 4-3.

For Charter Oak's part, Christian Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Charter Oak's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Diego Flores, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Martin Luna III was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Charter Oak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in 12 consecutive games.

Charter Oak is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Northview, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
