With Alabama winding down its postseason, a pair of teams from that state made their move in the MaxPreps south region football computer rankings this week.
Hoover jumped from No. 15 to a tie for No. 9 while McGill-Toolen rose from No. 21 to No. 11. Central, which was No. 10 last week, jumped four spaces to No. 6.
The top 5 remained intact with IMG Academy undefeated at No. 1 with an 11-point lead over DeMatha.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The South region includes teams from Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
