Softball Preview: West Chicago Wildcats vs. Naperville North Huskies
West Chicago hasn't had much luck against Naperville North recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will host the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Chicago has four straight wins, Naperville North has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when West Chicago faced off against Elmwood Park on Monday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3--1.

The result came thanks to Jasmyn Trigueros's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, West Chicago saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassiella Koenue, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Naperville North and Neuqua Valley meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Huskies fell 5-2 to the Wildcats.
Naperville North also got a good showing from Ava Matthews, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
West Chicago's victory bumped their record up to 20-10. As for Naperville North, their loss dropped their record down to 8-22.
