After flying high against Arcadia last Friday, St. Mary came back down to earth. The St. Mary's Knights lost 59-35 to the Mingus Marauders on Monday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Defeat or not, St. Mary's got some senior leadership from Gwen Carter and Ava Sierras. Carter posted 23 points, while Sierras had ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 65.7% of St. Mary's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Mingus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brianka Villalobos led the charge by going 7 of 13 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.
